DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Training team focuses on continually improving the performance of individuals and groups within St. Charles. This encompasses not only formal training in a classroom setting but informal learning that occurs through rounding and supporting our front end caregivers. The Training team is under the Information Services umbrella which partners with our customers to leverage various technologies to achieve the best patient outcomes possible by implementing new hardware and software solutions upgrading existing environments protecting the data we store and integrating different solutions to achieve a seamless experience.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Credentialed Trainer is responsible for creating exciting modern and comprehensive system training programs for all caregivers and providers at St. Charles. They work collaboratively with a team of Application Analysts to ensure our training environment is up to date and sets the stage for optimal system performance. They interact with caregivers and providers in a professional manner while providing high level customer service while rounding with teams and super users. This position does not directly manage other caregivers.


Responsible for coordination presentation and evaluation of EHR training and other technical training for new hires and existing caregivers in on site training courses workshops or webinars.

Rounds regularly to observe system use and offers appropriate one on one and group support for effective use of the EHR and other systems. Provides direct feedback on system usage with tips and tricks to improve efficiency and establishes relationships.

Maintains training matrix and monitors training completion status for all caregivers and providers. Works with the organizational development team to maintain accurate documentation and class schedules in the Learning Management System.

Troubleshoots assigned front line support calls from end users seeks resolution and escalates the issue to the system analyst if needed. Addresses clinical training issues arising from all applications including the Safety reporting system SAS .

Ensures knowledge of workflows that utilize a third party application in addition to Epic.

Participates in continued education around adult learners training best practices presentation public speaking skills both as a learner and trainer.

Participates in on call rotation as required.

Supports the vision mission and values of the organization in all respects.

May perform additional duties of similar complexity within the organization as required or assigned.


Required: Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university. Equivalent work experience and similar successful professional experience may be substituted for Bachelor s degree.

Required: Must pass credentialing panel within 6 months of hire and Epic certification exam in specified application within 3 months of completing the Epic certification training courses. This may require out of state overnight travel.

Valid Oregon driver s license and the ability to travel to all St. Charles Health System worksites.

Preferred: Epic application curriculum certification in current version used by organization such examples may include ASAP ClinDoc Ambulatory Willow Cupid Beaker Orders Beacon OpTime .


Required: Minimum one 1 year working in relevant workflows for clinical or billing applications.

Preferred: Experience in instructional design training using Epic system.


Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment PPE required to perform the job safely.

Self motivated with the ability to learn new concepts and job requirements quickly as well as handle frequent change.
