You will work with a Housing Specialist case manager to provide wraparound supports to engage participants and foster their recovery from homelessness You will provide support services in a collaborative approach with individuals to obtain or maintain housing develop action plans help with budget and housing needs and develop skills that will improve the communication and relationship with landlords The role of the Peer Support Specialist is to act as the bridge for resource connection and walk with participants as they gain stills towards independence and housing stability You will provide one on one support to consumers from start to finish during the process of locating safe secure and affordable housing Peer Support Specialists will assist participants in creating action steps towards their personal goals and identify what skills resources and supports are needed to ensure stable housing and personal goal achievement You ll love being able to make a difference in the lives of those you serve.

QUALIFICATIONS Required.

Experience as a mental health consumer or with a family member who has received mental health services and the ability to use these experiences to support others in recovery.

Must be Certified Peer Support Specialist or have completed the training and have the ability to Register with Mental Health Addiction Certification Board of Oregon.

Ability to be certified as a Peer Support Specialist Ability to drive agency vehicles Ability to successfully pass a DHS background check.

Preferred.

Experience with a mental health advocacy group or as a peer counselor Experience working with individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness Knowledge and understanding of Substance Use Disorders and Trauma An understanding of harm reductions interventions An understanding of homelessness An understanding of Housing First An ability to build rapport with hard to engage participants Knowledge of local resources Knowledge of Landlord Tenant law.

WORK SCHEDULE The schedule for this full time position is Monday Friday 8am 5pm.
