General statement of duties: This position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing and recording of a variety of accounting transactions with the primary assignment of processing accounts payable and receivables for the district. Additionally this position supports Sisters Park Recreation District during annual audits and budget season by assisting the executive director and business operations manager. The position will have appropriate training and knowledge to process and utilize district accounting platforms. Distinguishing features of the class: An employee in this classification is responsible for maintaining accounts by coding processing and posting payables and receivables. Assign and process accounts payable receivable and purchase orders based on documentation invoices and or statements. Follow up on delinquent accounts consistent with law and procedure. Work is performed under the supervision of the business operations manager who reviews work primarily on the basis of direct observation and interaction and information from coworkers and patrons. EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES PERFORMED: Illustrative only. -> Cross train and provide back up in at least one other accounting area when needed.

-> Calculate and verify data to produce regular or special summaries balance reports or other records.

-> Accumulate and classify data from varied sources to make summary reports as required review data to determine variances and similarities. Verify completed summaries against source documents which may involve statistical tabulations and calculations.

-> Provide customer service back up when needed by performing cashiering and front counter duties.

-> Prepare and assist in payroll processing procedures.

-> Answer phones as assigned using appropriate business phone etiquette.

-> Create and edit correspondence reports and statistical information using a computer and registration software.

-> Perform clerical work such as filing copying faxing computer input access and retrieval of data word processing

-> Order office janitorial supplies and process revolving fund checks.

-> Maintain district s lock and key inventory.

-> Performs related duties as required by supervisor.

-> Maintains punctual regular and predictable attendance.

-> Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.

-> Displays excellent communication skills including presentation and negotiation skills required in working with coworkers public and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge: At least one year of progressively responsible experience in accounting and or bookkeeping work with specialized course work in accounting bookkeeping general office practices or data processing preferably supplemented by experience in governmental fund accounting or any equivalent combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge skills and abilities to perform the above described duties.
