The Relief Counselor earns a competitive wage of 14 28 hr You will receive 0 60 more an hour while working night shift This is a non exempt hourly position primarily working overnight shift.

Up to 144 hours during the first 12 months for employees working 40 hours a week Prorated for employees working less than 40 hours a week.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RELIEF COUNSELOR OVERNIGHT SHIFT.
As a Relief Counselor you will dedicate 100 of your time to direct service delivery This is a Relief position which means you will not have a regular schedule Rather you ll be filling in for other direct care staff who cannot work their assigned shift.
You will aid individuals identified by the county as potential Commons at MLK residents to compile documentation for the pre lease and leasing process This also includes properly assessing the needs of those on the case load and supporting the participant in the development of goal and housing planning progress towards the goals and proper documentation of that progress The Relief Counselor will also be able to follow treatment and housing plans and documenting appropriately.
You will provide support services in a collaborative approach with individuals that will obtain or maintain housing develop action plans help with budget and housing needs and coach in developing skills that will improve the communication and relationship with landlords You will also provide appropriate crisis management techniques assess the level safety respond with appropriate level of support and properly document any incident in an incident report You will assist participants in creating action steps towards their personal goals and identify what skills resources and supports are needed to ensure stable housing and personal goal achievement You ll love being able to make a difference in the lives of those you serve.
Experience as a mental health consumer or with a family member who has received mental health services and the ability to use these experiences to support others in recovery Ability to drive agency vehicles Ability to successfully pass a DHS background check.
Experience with a mental health advocacy group or as a peer counselor Experience working with individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness.
The schedule for this part time position is night shift 10 00pm 8 00am.
