DEPARTMENTAL SUMMARY: The St. Charles Health System s Food Services Department is a high volume service department that provides world class food and beverage services including patient room service caf deli and catering.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Food Services Supply Specialist for St. Charles Health System is responsible for receiving delivering and maintaining all Periodic Automatic Replacement PAR levels regarding the Food Service inventory system in all locations throughout the hospital to include all kitchen and dish areas the Corner Deli Cascades Caf and floor stock areas. They are responsible for notifying management when food beverage and non food inventory levels fall below PAR levels. This position will use the First In First Out FIFO methodology for inventory management. This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

Shipping and Receiving:

Receive all food beverage and non food deliveries and reconcile the product to the invoice. Allocate all return items to a designated area and confirms pick ups when appropriate. Safe operation of carts hand trucks and pallet jacks to distribute supplies throughout the facility.

Inventory Control:

Rotates all food and beverage inventory based on the use by sell by or labeled date to ensure the FIFO product rotation method. Will also use communication to help assist in the entire team in the FIFO production rotation. Provide Food Service leadership with lists of priority use items to reduce spoilage. Maintain orderly storage of all Food Service inventory supply rooms floor stock areas and dock locations while keeping safety a top priority i.e. food safety fire safety egress ergonomics etc. . Assists in tracking all food and supply flows receiving distribution waste etc. utilizing Microsoft Excel and or other software as assigned.

Food and beverage Distribution:

Patient Floor Stock Caregiver Lounges:

Will rotate and stock all floor stock items according to par lists for each location throughout the entire facility. Will document all cooler temperatures on a daily basis. Will complete inventory log for each delivery to each location.

Kitchen:

Will stock and rotate all incoming food according to pre set locations in the coolers walk ins and dry storage areas. Will stock all food and non food supplies as needed to all areas of each kitchen.

Retail Service Areas:

Will stock all food beverage and non food supplies to the Corner Deli Cascades Caf and any other designated areas.

Cleaning:

Is responsible for the cleanliness of the following list:

Shelves in all Food Service and Floor Stock areas. General Floor Maintenance to include Sweeping Scrubbing and Mopping.

Trash Removal from all Floor Stock and inventory Areas

Team relations:

Contribute to harmonious team interaction. Take appropriate measures to ensure the success of the corporation and all of its caregivers. Attend departmental meetings and huddles. Be an active member providing input and suggestions i.e. problems accomplishments safety etc. .

EDUCATION

Required: High school diploma or GED

Preferred: Culinary School or equivelent education

LICENSURE CERTIFICATION REGISTRATION

Required: Oregon Food Handler s Card or equivalent substitute recognized by the State of Oregon prior to first day of employment.

Preferred: OLCC Certification ServSafe Certification food allergen certification

EXPERIENCE

Required: 1 year in stocking and receiving food products and supplies food service experience sufficient to understand large variety of food products and supplies

Preferred: 3 years of stocking or inventory management in 3M valued inventory usage of an inventory management software extensive knowledge of raw food product terminology i.e. meat cuts common abbreviations and or acronyms etc.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment PPE required to perform the job safely.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Frequently 50 : Sitting bending stooping kneeling crouching climbing stairs lifting carrying pushing or pulling 11 25 pounds.

Occasionally 25 : Climbing ladder step stool reaching overhead lifting carrying pushing or pulling 25 50 pounds operation of a motor vehicle using clear and audible speaking voice and ability to hear normal speech level.

Rarely 10 : Keyboard operation.

Never 0 : Ability to hear whispered speech level.

Exposure to Elemental Factors
