Brief description of the job to be performed.
The IT Systems Administrator works in partnership with the rest of the IT team IT Manager and Systems Administrator to ensure all IT systems are implemented and maintained according to industry best practices for optimal performance reliability and security The primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to Using our ticketing system to support day to day IT needs for end users Prompt and courteous customer service is essential Clear and frequent communication with IT team members and end users is also essential Design implement and manage IT systems including regularly installing updates Work on IT projects as assigned by the IT Manager.
Primary work hours will be Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM with some flexibility Occasionally will need to schedule work outside of these normal hours to assist end users work on projects install updates typically the 3rd Thursday 7 9 PM or to assist other IT team members with projects or tasks This position shares on call responsibilities with the other Systems Administrator and the IT Manager and involves responding to system outages and assisting end users with time sensitive issues A lot of end users work evenings and weekends Most of the time after hours request for IT assistance can be handled during normal business hours but occasionally approximately a few times a week responding after hours is required depending on the nature of the request.
COVID 19 Impact OSLC is currently closed to the public and has strict procedures in place to minimize risk to the employees Under the current circumstances primary work hours will be conducted on site at least two days a week in rotation with other IT department staff Equipment such as a laptop may be provided although the Systems Administrator is expected to maintain adequate Internet and Wi Fi equipment suitable to Remote Desktop connect via VPN Once COVID restrictions have been lifted within the state of Oregon and it is considered safe to have regular in person contact we will return to normal operating standards and primary works hours will be increased in center.

Systems support in Windows Macintosh and Linux environments Perform systems backup and restore operations Build maintain and resolve issues with Windows and Linux servers Build maintain and resolve issues with our virtualization infrastructure Evaluate and implement software and cloud solutions for center wide implementation Install maintain and resolve issues with network switches routers firewall and other related equipment Respond to and troubleshoot system performance issues Respond to alerts from our firewall server monitoring systems or other systems Provide computer user education and training in software and hardware usage Respond to and troubleshoot issues with computers servers mobile devices and services Transport equipment new purchases and equipment needing servicing Other project related tasks as assigned.

Level 9 BA BS degree with coursework appropriate to the position and at least 4 years related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience appropriate to the position Level 10 BA BS degree with coursework appropriate to the position and at least 5 years related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience appropriate to the position Level 11 BA BS degree with coursework appropriate to the position and at least 6 years related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience appropriate to the position Detailed knowledge of industry best practices used to securely configure and manage servers email firewalls networks and other IT systems Significant skills and experience necessary to configure maintain and resolve complex issues with Microsoft Windows OS Active Directory including Group Policies Hyper V virtualization including clusters Linux OS including the usage of the command line interface Network switches including VLAN Firewalls with Sophos UTM preferred Email systems with Microsoft 365 experience preferred Computer and server hardware.
Windows shell and PowerShell scripting Experience with Mac OS desired.
