The Assistant Operations Manager will manage a team of Operators ensuring service levels are on time professional and compliant. The Assistant Operations Manager may operate varying schedules in order to best serve operational and foreseeably maintenance needs. The Assistant Operations Manager under the general direction of the Safety Operations Manager is highly versatile in the nuances of transit operational logistics and associated relational synergize of dispatching processes as well as will be a resource based on need s and may be the go to for both maintenance staff and classic operations oriented staff such as bus operators.

What will your job look like

* Oversight of Drivers Dispatchers and operations employees and their daily performance to ensure safe efficient effective operation including scheduling expenditures attendance and discipline

* Perform Driver evaluations as required by contract as well as ADA DOT and FTA requirements

* Monitor performance of direct reports and provide coaching and guidance

* Deliver proper classroom behind the wheel and mobility management training in accordance with contractual and company requirements

* Ensure staffing levels are appropriate and partner with People Culture to recruit and hire

* Provide bid oversight per CBA

* Will be responsible for next day assignments

* Utilizes CAD AVL in order to hold staff accountable to performance KPIs

* Oversee scheduling run cutting rostering the driver bidding process and staffing responsibilities

* Schedule shifts and operations meeting

* Ensures all new hires meet minimum qualifications for each division including background and DMV checks

* Will assist with supporting Safety with the management of incident and accident reporting

* Assist with ensuring service is on schedule and professional

* Utilizes other tool s as assigned to include on the go tablet s in order to track assess and evaluate in field service performance of road supervisor s

* Will be utilized in capacities that bridge the gap between maintenance and operation s in order to gain net efficiency during pull out and in QA QC associated with bus cleaning at a minimum

* Administer team and department disciplines

* Assist Leadership with Union interaction

* In field oversight of utility workers as needed

* Must be available and willing to address emergency issues as where they arise

* Must be available for back up for off hour emergencies if when where warranted

* Road Observation coaching training and retraining

* Other duties as assigned

All you need is:

* High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

* 3 years in an operations role

* Experience in a Supervisory role

* Must possess a valid driver s license with a CDL

Even better if you have:

* Exemplary organizational skills

* Ability to relate to a diversity of requests

* Ability to handle multiple tasks and situations

* Exercise judgment and creativity in making decisions

* Knowledge of Operation Front line discipline Monitor headways

* Must be advanced in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word Access and Excel

* Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

* Regular attendance is required

* Proficient in Route Match and or other dispatch operational modules for daily field work Other AVL systems

* Must have proficient writing skills to draft memorandum s work spreadsheets etc.
